Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before using The Allergic Dog™ website or any products and services offered by The Allergic Dog™, founded by Dr. Meagan Painter, DVM, DACVD (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and subscribers of theallergicdog.com and any associated platforms, tools, or subscription products, including the AxiDerm™ Suite. By accessing or using our website or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
1. About This Website and Our Services
The Allergic Dog™ is a veterinary education and clinical tools platform offering educational content, courses, resources, and clinical decision-support tools for veterinary professionals, dog owners, and pet groomers. Our services include:
- Free and paid educational content on theallergicdog.com, including blog posts, videos, and courses;
- Subscription-based courses such as Ear Infection Essentials™, Beyond Expression™, Proven Protocols™, Medication Masters™, and Itch to Answer™;
- The AxiDerm™ Suite — a browser-based clinical decision support platform for licensed veterinary professionals, currently in development and expected to launch in 2026.
Note: The AxiDerm™ Suite is not yet available for general access. The terms governing its use are included here and will apply upon launch. We will update this page with the launch date when available.
2. Audience and Eligibility
2.1 General Website Users
The general content on theallergicdog.com is intended for a broad audience, including dog owners, pet groomers, and veterinary professionals. All users must be at least 18 years of age or accessing the site under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
2.2 Course Subscribers
Paid courses may be designated for specific audiences, including veterinary professionals, dog owners, or groomers. By enrolling in a course, you represent that you are the intended audience for that course as described at the point of purchase.
2.3 AxiDerm™ Suite Subscribers
Access to the AxiDerm™ Suite is limited exclusively to licensed veterinary professionals, including veterinarians, veterinary specialists, and veterinary technicians operating under appropriate professional licensure. By subscribing to the AxiDerm™ Suite, you represent and warrant that:
- You are a licensed veterinary professional in good standing in your jurisdiction;
- You are accessing the Platform in your professional capacity;
- You are not a pet owner, groomer, or lay person seeking information for personal use.
We reserve the right to terminate access for any user who does not meet these eligibility requirements.
3. Medical and Clinical Disclaimer
3.1 General Website Content
The information provided on theallergicdog.com is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not intended to constitute veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a licensed veterinarian before making any changes to your dog’s medical or healthcare routine.
3.2 No Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship
Use of this website or any of our services does not create a veterinary-client-patient relationship between you and The Allergic Dog™ or Dr. Meagan Painter, DVM, DACVD. Content is educational in nature and is not tailored to any specific patient or clinical situation.
3.3 AxiDerm™ Suite — Clinical Decision Support
The tools, calculators, decision trees, scoring systems, and all content available through the AxiDerm™ Suite are provided for educational and clinical decision-support purposes only. They are intended to assist licensed veterinary professionals in their clinical reasoning and are not a substitute for professional veterinary judgment, examination, diagnosis, or treatment.
The Company makes no representations or warranties that the AxiDerm™ Suite’s outputs are accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for any specific patient or clinical situation. You assume full responsibility for all clinical decisions made in connection with your use of the platform. The Company shall not be liable for any patient outcomes, adverse events, or professional consequences arising from reliance on the platform.
4. Subscription, Payment, and Refund Policy
4.1 Course Purchases
Course purchases grant you lifetime access to that course content as it exists at the time of purchase, subject to these Terms. Courses may be updated over time; updates will be provided at no additional charge unless otherwise stated.
4.2 AxiDerm™ Suite Subscription
Access to the AxiDerm™ Suite is available on an annual subscription basis. Pricing tiers include a founding member rate and a standard rate, as published on our website at the time of enrollment. Your applicable rate will be confirmed at checkout.
4.3 Auto-Renewal
AxiDerm™ Suite subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each annual billing period at the then-current rate unless you cancel prior to the renewal date. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for each renewal term.
4.4 No Refunds After Access
All fees — including course purchases and AxiDerm™ Suite subscriptions — are non-refundable once access has been granted. This applies to all partial billing periods and unused portions of any subscription or course term.
4.5 Cancellation
You may cancel your AxiDerm™ Suite subscription at any time by contacting us at info@theallergicdog.com or through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access through the end of the paid term. No prorated refunds will be issued for the remaining period after cancellation.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, tools, frameworks, methodologies, brand names, course materials, videos, graphics, logos, and blog posts available on or through our website and platforms are the proprietary intellectual property of The Allergic Dog™ and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This includes, without limitation:
- The Allergic Dog™
- AxiDerm™ and the AxiDerm Suite™
- Itch to Answer™
- Ear Infection Essentials™
- Beyond Expression™
- Proven Protocols™
- Medication Masters™
- Inflammation First™
- Allergic Dog Blueprint™
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our content and services solely for their intended purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, republish, download, store, transmit, resell, or otherwise exploit any content or materials without our prior written consent.
6. Acceptable Use
By using our website and services, you agree that you will not:
- Share login credentials or allow others to access paid content or platforms using your account;
- Resell, sublicense, or transfer access to any paid product or platform to any third party;
- Scrape, copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of our website, courses, or platforms;
- Use our content or tools for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations;
- Reproduce or redistribute course materials, videos, or clinical tools in any form;
- Use the website or platforms in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair their operation.
7. User Content
If you submit testimonials, reviews, comments, or other content to us or through our platforms, you grant The Allergic Dog™ a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute that content across our marketing platforms and materials. You represent that you own or have the right to submit such content.
8. Account Termination
8.1 Termination by You
You may cancel your subscription or discontinue use of our services at any time in accordance with Section 4.5.
8.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to any or all of our services at any time, with or without notice, for any of the following reasons:
- Violation of these Terms;
- Failure to meet applicable eligibility requirements;
- Non-payment of subscription or course fees;
- Any conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the Company, other users, or the integrity of our platforms.
Sections 3, 5, 9, 10, and 11 of these Terms will survive any termination.
9. No Guarantees
We provide tools, education, and clinical resources — but outcomes vary based on individual patient health status, owner and veterinary team compliance, environmental factors, and consistency of implementation. We make no guarantees regarding specific outcomes from use of any content, course, or tool. Please use all content responsibly and in conjunction with appropriate veterinary guidance.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE COMPANY AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE OUR WEBSITE, COURSES, OR PLATFORMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO THE COMPANY IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
OUR WEBSITE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUR SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Allergic Dog™, Dr. Meagan Painter, DVM, DACVD, and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of our website or services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of our website or services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you hereby consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.
13. Updates to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email. Your continued use of our website or services after the effective date of any updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
